Food Truck Business Project - Years 5 - 7

Hi Educators,

Thanks for purchasing the Food Truck Project. This exciting project will help students understand and appreciate the steps needed to start a new business. The beautiful thing about the project is that you as the educator can choose what tasks the students will complete. I recommend printing what you need and staple/bind into a booklet.

Students will...

• Understand the concept of a food truck business, its components, and the roles involved.
• Identify the purpose, popularity, and the importance of planning.
• Understand the financial aspects of starting a food truck.
• Learn how to measure the interior space and equipment.
• Follow a budget and calculate necessary markups.
• Understand portion control and calculate ingredient quantities.

Prior to starting, students will need to have an understanding of decimals (money), general measurements, volume, area and perimeter. However, these concepts can be taught along the way.
